This course covers fundamental knowledge on microbial morphology, physiology, microbial metabolism, energetics, and growth processes. The course also introduces basic concepts of molecular biology, including an overview on microbial biodiversity, both in terms of functional and phylogenetic aspects. This course is designed to provide introductory concepts on fundamentals of microbiology. This course covers basic knowledge on molecular biology of microorganisms, microbial bio-diversity, microbial diseases. In the end, a series of practical sessions will also be included to provide students with basic skills in molecular microbiology. B 211 was previously entitled "Microbiology" during Falls of 2013, 2014 and 2015.
