Professor Tzavaras' research interests include mathematical modelling, analysis and computation of fluids and materials. He also has an interest in hyperbolic conservation laws and the structure of the equations of fluid mechanics and elasticity.
Other interests include singularity formation in solid mechanics (cavitation and shear bands), multi-scale analysis, hydrodynamic limits and effective properties of fluids, as well as kinetic models of dilute polymeric systems and dynamics of discrete lattice systems.
