Research Overview

Professor Liberale's research interests are focused on label-free imaging based on vibrational spectroscopy (in particular, coherent Raman microscopy) and applied to biology and medicine. He is also interested in using high-resolution 3D printing based on two-photon lithography to miniaturize complex optical systems. With this approach, he has pioneered the fabrication of novel micro-optical components directly integrated at the end-face of optical fibers for applications including beam shaping, optical tweezers, and micro-endoscopy. His research activity takes advantage of an integrated approach that combines design, micro/nanofabrication, and optical techniques.
