Abstract

The novel ansa-yttrocene complex [(η5-C9H5-2-Me)2SiMe 2]Y[N(SiHMe2)2], derived from a linked bis-(indenyl) ligand, has been prepared by an amine elimination reaction. Utilization of Y[N(SiHMe2)2]3(THF)2 as a sterically flexible amide precursor ensures a high-yield synthesis, favorable solubility behavior, and the formation of two β-Si-H agostically fused metallacycles.
