Abstract

A mathematical simulation of the effect of diffusion on the inflation of a cylindrical polymer film has been developed. The rheological constitutive equation of polymer was assumed to obey an Oldroyd fluid B type. Calculated results indicate that the diffusion coefficient and solubility of the gas have a profound influence on the film or membrane expansion.
