Abstract

All-solid-state lithium/sodium batteries (ASS-L/SIBs) are a promising next-generation energy storage technology due to their high energy density and excellent safety record and an exciting new development in battery research. In this chapter, the solid-state electrolyte and the interface between electrode and electrolyte, the two main components influencing ASS-LIBs' electrochemical performance, are discussed. The common problems in ASS-L/SIBs of enormous impedance and ultrapoor stability are described and the common stratagems for these problems are also summarized. We hope that this chapter can provide comprehensive information for the development and application of ASS-L/SIBs.
