Abstract

A method is proposed for the preparation of organic single-crystal photovoltaics by using thin tetracene crystals on bilayer heterojunctions with fullerene (C60) thin films. The method can be used to prepare low-cost flexible electronics like two-terminal devices, high-performance optoelectronic devices, organic diodes, photovaltaics, and photodetectors. The study used cross-polarized microscopy, x-ray powder diffraction (XRD), and single-crystal X-ray diffraction to determine the quality of the single crystals. It was observed that the device comprised of a poly(3,4- ethylenedioxythiophene), polystyrenesulfonate (PEDOT:PSS) coated with indium tin oxide (ITO) substrates, a tetracene crystals, evaporated thin films of fullerene, thin film of bathocuproine, and an amuminum thin-film electrode.
