Abstract
The first fluoridooxidomolybdate of tris-(2-amino-ethyl)amine (tren), bis-[tris-(2-ammonio-ethyl)amine] bis-(penta-fluorido-oxido-molybdate) difluoride monohydrate, (C6H21N4)2[MoOF5]2F2·H2O, was obtained by solvothermal synthesis using microwave heating from the reaction of molybdenum oxide, tris-2-(aminoethyl)amine, aqueous HF and ethanol at 463 K for 1 h. The structure consists of [MoOF5]2- octa-hedra, isolated fluoride ions, water mol-ecules and triprotonated tren cations. Cohesion is ensured by a network of hydrogen bonds.
