Abstract

A process for the preparation of cellular solids starting from a ceramic powder and an additive-free polyurethane by means of in situ foaming and polymerization of the polymer templating matrix is presented. Ni-YSZ cermets for SOFC applications were prepared following two different processing routes. Microstructural, porosity and conductivity investigation was performed to characterize the two cermets obtained, and to evaluate the possibility of using these materials for solid oxide fuel cells application. copyright The Electrochemical Society.
