Abstract

This paper presents a circularly polarized (CP) dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) for mm-wave applications. The antenna consists of a cylindrical DRA excited with coaxial feed. To obtain CP, the DRA is loaded with another parasitic dielectric cylinder of different dielectric properties, overlapping the primary cylinder. The proposed antenna operates at 26.9 GHz having impedance bandwidth (BW) of 5 GHz and axial ratio (AR) BW of 40%. The antenna exhibits peak gain of 6.5 dB.
