Abstract
The current perpendicular to plane (CPP) sensors with an enhanced MR using laminated FM layers are studied. It allows the elimination of insulating gap layer in the real head. It is found that the MR of CPP can be increased be confining the electrons at the active layers so that they experience more spin-dependent scattering at the interface. The effect of using (CoFe/Cu)N multilayer as a free layer in dual CPP spin-valves with nanoxides as the specular reflection layers is also investigated.
