Abstract
A method that precomputes, stores, and reuses visibility information for light transport in general parametric surfaces, triangle meshes was described. A different approach was taken in which visibility information stored in a regular fashion that allowed for constant time lookups was directly used. The approach's performance was demonstrated by applying it to the computation of bidirectional reflectance distribution functions (BRDF), bidirectional texture functions (BTF), light fields and near-interactive volume lighting.
