Abstract
Using the model of Taylor-Culick profile of mass injection along the radial direction, the flow stability of solid rocket motor is studied based on spectral collocation method. The effects of different parameters (sidewall injection Reynolds number, injection speed, length-to-diameter ratio) on the space stability of solid rocket motor have been analyzed. The results show that the sidewall injection Reynolds number affects the arrangement of unstable modes from fundamental frequency to high frequency, and the amplification effect of flow instability at different aspect ratio is significant. Based on the correlations between the frequency and wave number (both radial direction and ring direction), the physical properties of instability of SRM are described.
