Abstract
Nanowire-based piezoelectric nanogenerators are emerging to produce a current from mechanical energy, but their main problem is the high electrical contact resistance between the nanowires and the top electrode due to the nanowire roughness. Here, it is demonstrated that two-dimensional materials are perfect top electrodes for these devices, and a novel cell is fabricated that shows unprecedented high currents, overtaking the performance of all previous designs.
