Abstract

An ultrafast physical random number generator was demonstrated with a data rate of 200 Gb/s by using a free-running self-chaotic broad-area vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (BA-VCSEL), which promises a compact and low-cost way for parallel chip-integrated high-speed physical random number generator.
