Abstract

The photophysical properties of a dioctyl substituted polyfluorene (PFO) with a focus on the effects of intermolecular interactions were reported. The absorption showed a aggregate peak at 433 nm when films were either spin coated from solutions in poor solvents subjected to a thermal cycle after deposition. The formation of aggregates reduced the amount of the long lived, red-shifted emission that arose from excimers.
