Abstract

In this paper we develop new interpolation estimates for three-dimensional edge finite elements which require minimal regularity assumptions on the vectorfield to be approximated. These estimates turn out to be essential in our convergence analysis for edge element approximation of band gaps associated with photonic crystals. © 2006 IMACS.
