Abstract
In this paper two parametric models for the joint distribution of wave height and wave steepness is presented. The wave steepness parameters considered here are the crest front steepness and the crest front velocity. The models are fitted to field data and compared with laboratory data and data obtained by linear and non-linear simulations.
