N2 - Herein, we present an amperometric sensor for the detection of ascorbic acid, a biomarker linked to oxidative stress assessment. The working electrode was synthesized through a single-step procedure, employing a CO2 laser to generate copper single atoms supported on a laser scribed graphene, out of a polyimide sheet. The sensor reached a limit of detection of 1.099 μM over a 2.0 to 910 μM linear range, achieving a sensitivity value of 176.19 μA mM-1 cm-2, We demonstrate the system selectivity for ascorbic acid detection in the presence of common interferents found in blood, suggesting the possibility of developing this technique for point-of-care applications.
