Abstract

The material and electrical properties of SnO2 fine particles were investigated as a function of aging times and temperature. A sol-gel process was used to synthesize ultra-fine particles of SnO2 and tin chloride dihydrate and ethanol were chosen as raw materials. The grain size after firing at 700°C for 30 min is about 25nm and the size distribution is very narrow. SnO2 thick films were fabricated by a screen-printing technique on an alumina substrates. A linear change in electrical conductance of SnO2 below 200°C and the constant conductance in the region of 200°C to 450°C are observed. It finally shows intrinsic behavior above 450°C.
