Abstract

The multilevel fast multipole algorithm (MLFMA) is applied to the problem of a general three-dimensional dielectric target above or below a lossy half space. The dyadic half-space Green's function is evaluated rigorously for the "near" MLFMA interactions, while an asymptotic Green's function approximation is applied for the "far" interactions. The model is discussed, and results are compared with those from a rigorous method-of-moments (MoM) analysis. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
