Abstract
Simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) plays a vital role in power-constrained cooperative communication by harvesting energy at the relay node from the ambient radio frequency signals while transmitting information to the destination. In this work, we consider SWIPT based overlay device-to-device (D2D) multi-input and multi-output (MIMO) relay communications with outdated channel state information (CSI) overgeneralized Nakagami-m fading channels. Further, transmit antenna selection is employed in choosing the antenna which maximizes the received signal-to-noise ratio at the receiver to reduce the system complexity. Framework for outage probability and asymptotic outage probability for the SWIPT based D2D MIMO relay system with outdated CSI is developed. Impact of energy harvesting and outdated CSI over throughput is analyzed for the considered system model. Simulations are carried out to verify the correctness of the obtained analytical expressions.
