Abstract

The cluster chemistry with functionalised trimethylsilyl re-agents was investigated. The oxidation of the one-dimensional coordination polymer 1/ [{Ag2(PhS2P-PS2Ph)-dppe} ·dppe] leads to the formation of [Ag 12(PhS2-P-PS2Ph)6(dppeS) 6] (dppeS = Ph2P(CH2)2P(S)Ph 2]. The dianionic ligand [PhPS2-PS2Ph] 2- could possibly give rise to a new class of macrocyclic transition-metal chalcogenides.
