Abstract
In this paper, we present uniform approaches for the computation of the outage probability, level crossing rate, and the average outage duration of various selection combining (SC) diversity scheme in presence of multiple co-channel interferences and with both minimum signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) and desired signal power constraints. We consider the best signal power algorithm, the best SIR algorithm, and the best total power (desired plus interference) algorithm. We then specialize our analysis to a low-complexity dual-branch SC receiver subject to multiple interferers over Rayleigh fading channels for all three algorithms. Some numerical examples of performance comparison among various SC selection algorithms are plotted and discussed.
