Abstract

We propose a phase-encoded modeling (PEM) method to efficiently compute bandlimited Green's functions. These Green's functions, derived from a pair of finite-difference (FD) simulations of phase-encoded monopole and dipole sources, can be used for calculating migration images, tomographic sensitivity kernels, angle gathers, misfit gradients for waveform inversion, and other uses.
