Abstract
Porous carbon materials possess good conductivity, easy structural tailoring, and good surface modification, which give them great potential for use as sulfur hosts, interlayers, or current collectors to solve problems associated with sulfur cathodes. Various carbon structures have been extensively investigated in lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries, including microporous, mesoporous, and hierarchical porous carbons. This chapter summarizes the porous carbons used in Li-S batteries and the influences of morphology, pore symmetry, and surface property on the electrochemical performance of Li-S batteries.
