Abstract

Colloidal CdSe nanocrystals were prepared to provide materials with well-defined crystallinity and size distribution. These nanocrystals were capped with the coordinating surfactant trioctylphosphine oxide (TOPO). TOPO can later be replaced by other capping ligands, and the nature of the capping ligand influences significantly the properties of the nanocrystals.
