Abstract

In this article the solution properties, the glass transition temperature and the tacticity are reported for poly(dl-isobornyl methacrylate) (PIBM), a polymer with a rigid side unit. The results obtained are compared with those found previously for poly(cyclohexyl methacrylate) (PCy) in order to compare the influence of the rigidity and the bulkiness of the side groups on the glass transition temperature and chain flexibility of polymethacrylates. NMR spectroscopy has been used for polymer characterization.
