N2 - Single-phase nanocrystalline powders in the Pr0.8Sr 0.2Co1-xFexO3 series (x = 0.0, 0.2, 0.5, 0.8, and 1.0) were prepared using a single-step combustion synthesis at low temperatures, based on the autoignition reaction of a nitrate solution in the presence of citric acid. These powders were used to prepare symmetrical cells with Sm-doped ceria electrolyte, whose Pr0.8Sr0.2Co 1-xFexO3/Ce0.8Sm0.2O 2-x interfaces were studied using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurements. In particular, the impedance of the Pr 0.8Sr0.2Co1-xFexO3 electrodes was analyzed as a function of the overpotential, temperature, and oxygen partial pressure. The EIS plots were decomposed into at least two semicircles, which could be attributed to different elementary processes at high- and low-frequencies. The low frequency contributions strongly depended not only on temperature, but also on gas atmosphere and overpotential. copyright The Electrochemical Society.
