Abstract
In this paper we report calculations of the self-heating induced in low-temperature magnetic relaxation experiments. The results are compared with recent experimental data on TbFeO3 single crystal and Fe3Tb metallic alloy. Our conclusion is that the plateau in the magnetic viscosity observed at low temperatures, and interpreted as quantum tunneling of magnetization, can not be explained by the self-heating.
