Abstract
Soot formation in high pressure laminar co-flow ethylene diffusion flames diluted by nitrogen is studied by use of line of sight attenuation and laser scattering. Soot volume fraction is determined by line of sight attenuation for pressures of 2, 4, 5, 8, and 12 atmospheres, and compared with previous results by two-color thermometry. The results show good agreement with previous results. Average particle diameter is also determined for the first time in a flame at these pressures.
