abstract = "Adsorption isotherm and kinetics of methane on pitch-based activated carbon is experimentally investigated at temperatures ranging from 5°C to 45°C and the pressures varying up to 2.5 MPa. The experiments have been conducted by a constant-volume-variable-pressure (CVVP) method and the test rig provides a maximum uncertainty of ± 5 % in measuring the amount of methane uptake. The experimentally measured isotherms data are fitted with Langmuir, T{\'o}th and Dubinin-Astakhov (DA) model. A modified linear-driving-force (LDF) model is proposed to predict the amount of methane uptake as a function of time with average fittings error of 5 %. These data are essential for designing any solid-sorption methane storage systems.",
