Abstract

Efficient charge separation and high intrinsic catalytic activity are two pivotal factors for high-performance photocatalysis. In this issue of Chem Catalysis, Zheng and co-workers developed an ingenious subsurface engineering of two-dimensional hexagonal ZnIn2S4, significantly promoting the electron transfer dynamics and overall efficiency of photocatalytic water splitting.
