N2 - There is an increased need for trusted services in practically all computer-based activities. Firstly, because the dependence on those services has been constantly increasing, and hence the value attached to them, and secondly, because there is an also increasing concern that service correctness may be undermined with malicious intentions. There is already a significant body of research on distributed computing architectures, methodologies and algorithms, both in the fields of dependability and of security, which aim at addressing one or both of the above-mentioned concerns. The panelists will present different viewpoints on the problem and on the ways to tackle it.
