Abstract

Poly(ether sulfonamide) (PESA)/poly(ether imide) (PEI) blends were compatibilized with addition of small amount of 1,3-diamino-2-propanol. Membranes obtained from the compatibilized blend are more hydrophilic than those obtained from the original pure polymers, and show a relatively high permeability with a rather low molecular weight cut-off. The membrane morphology can be controlled by the PESA/PEI composition.
