title = "ZnO nanostructures and device applications",
abstract = "ZnO is undoubtedly the most versatile binary compound that exhibits a wide variety of morphological features. It has also been shown to be applicable to a vast range of optoelectronics and electronics devices. In this paper, two examples of recent progresses in the investigations of ZnO nanostructures and device applications are reported. Tapered ZnO nanorod, herein called nanoneedle, arrays have been grown on ZnO-coated silicon substrate by a hydrothermal downward growth process. Piezo-diodes are used as an example for device applications.",
